Meet The Trainer
Hi I'm Kaylea! Nice to meet you!
I've had quite the journey to get to where I am today and I've brought all my knowledge and experiences to share with you and your pup.
Like most animal lovers, I had plenty of animals growing up and I knew that a future working with animals was my dream job. While attending and studying psychology in college, I had an amazing opportunity to intern for a local exploration park and work with exotic animals in 2011. There, I learned training techniques that I apply to dog training today. During that time I also worked at a local animal boarding facility and loved it! It introduced me to a world of all-things-dog and I knew I wanted to start dog training.
I moved to Reno in 2014 and during my time here I’ve gathered experience by working at local dog boarding, daycare, and training facilities, volunteered at the SPCA, and shadowed a few local trainers who were both positive-only dog trainers and balanced dog trainers. I then moved on to working for a dog training company for 5 years. There, I was the lead trainer and have a background in not only basic and advanced obedience but scent work, aggression, and protection dogs.
I've found a true passion that doesn't just stop at helping dogs but has grown to teaching owners how to better communicate with their dogs.
Currently, I teach obedience training and specialize in play-based training, off-leash training, and aggression/behavior modification.
How people describe me in the dog training world: Confident, direct and honest, hard-working, and passionate about dogs and their owners.
